Dallas +1.5 over Washington
How do the Redskins overcome the loss of three key cogs on defense? That is a great place to start when evaluating tonights game. Losing Arrington is big, losing Barrow is big and losing Daniels is bigger.
The Redskins got great push in there first two games against suspect offensive lines. Most of that push was predicated on the big three listed above. Tonight with these three pieces missing they must face a much better offensive line. Testaverde should have plenty of time to expose an average Redskins secondary. Don't be fooled by the Bucs lack of effectiveness against the Skins secondary. They have an aging offensive line and no deep game. The Giants gave a truer picture of the Redskins lack of a pass rush.
The Cowboys will stretch the Redskins and that should open up the running game which has been struggling. My main concern is the weather with a local weather forecaster in D.C. saying this morning that the rain will come down in sheets during the game.
I still think that favors the bigger stronger QB and the fleet WR's the Cowboys possess. Redskins are a scary proposition after the seven turnovers last week against the Giants. Brunell still not 100% which is never good on a wet track.
Portis and company may get some, but I think the Cowboys and Parcells get the Monday Night Money on the road. Plus, FedEx field is far from the crazy confines of RFK. Look for a lot of NoShows if the weather is as bad as expected.
